Health & Safety Training

Three choices for H&S

Seafish is able to offer three distinct choices when it comes to health & safety training for the seafood industry.

 

Choice 1 is Introductory Health & Safety Training

This REHIS accredited short (3+hrs) training course is ideal for most parts of the seafood industry.

Equivalent to a level 1 qualification, it provides the entry level training preferred by most employers who are seeking a formally recognised qualification.

Course Content - Introduction to:


• Health & Safety Law
• Risk Assessments
• General Working Environment
• Slips Trips and Falls
• Hazardous Substances
• Occupational Health
• Machinery and Equipment
• Manual handling
• Electricity at Work
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Fire
• Accidents and emergencies
• Min. duration is 3 hrs

Choice 2 is the Level 2 Health & Safety taught course

This one day course has been specially developed by Seafish to meet the needs of managers, supervisors and small business owners in the seafood industry.

The course is delivered by Seafish approved trainers who are also approved by:

• CIEH to deliver Level 2 H&S courses;
• REHIS to deliver Elementary H&S Courses.

Each course is followed by a short multiple choice test and successful candidates will receive an appropriate certificate.

Course Content
The course content is very similar to that of the Introductory H&S course, but it is dealt with in more detail.

Course Duration
The course has a minimum duration of 6 hrs plus the test.

Choice 3 is Level 2 H&S by Open Learning

Covering the same course content as the Level 2 taught course and approved by both REHIS and CIEH for their respective qualifications.
